Seven Days

Seven Days: The RVT, Above the Stag, Halfway, Ku Bar and more

Virgin at The RVT

Sunday is the holy day and we can often be found in a position of prayer at the shrine we call the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. This Sunday (30 Sep) the actual mother of Christ will be shining her light and making us repent with laughter as the glorious Virgin Xtravaganzah takes to the stage at Sunday Social. You also get divine music from the trinity of Simon Le Vans, Liam Chaplin and Sean Sirrs.

Food and love at Above The Stag

If you are heading to Above The Stag Theatre in Vauxhall to see the marvellous Maurice – and you really should – or either of the plays in the Studio space then you’ll be thrilled to know that you can now get delicious food before and after shows. The food is being provided by Bear Chefs and we can confirm it’s really impressive fare. Get tickets and information at

Cabaret at the City of Quebec

There’s loads of fun stuff on offer at the City of Quebec at the end of Oxford Street all week and this Sunday (30 Sep) at 9pm they have cabaret from everyone’s favourite West Country girl, Stephanie Von Clitz.

Sunday Roast at the Load of Hay

The Load of Hay is the mega popular pub in Watford that has been serving the LGBT+ community for many years with cabaret and much more. One of the things we love the most are their totally yummy Sunday lunches from midday with prices starting at just £9.95, and you can book on 01923 441113.

It’s A Knockout Grand Final at Halfway

After five weeks of amazing heats this Tuesday (2 Oct) Bette Rinse will be hosting the Grand Final of It’s A Knockout at Halfway II Heaven. Two acts, PoppyCock and #Joe, will be performing their sequinned socks off to grab the crown that has been won in the past by the likes of Felix Le Freak and Ripley. There will be guest judges, tears and tiaras, surprises and, at the end of it all, one winner. The whole shebang kicks off at 9pm.

The beer is described as ‘fresh and crafty’ aims to change the way LGBT+ charities are funded.

On the last Friday of every month the gang at Bar Broadway down in Brighton present their film sing-along special and this Friday (28 Sep) it’s one of our all-time favourite flicks, the mighty Grease. Hosted by the marvellous Kara Van Park, this is your chance to be Sandy or Danny and belt out Summer Nights, You’re The One That I Want or the all time classic Hopelessly Devoted To You.
