Last weekend the great and good of the gay cabaret world descended on Birmingham for the first Drag Idol semi final of 2018 at Eden Bar.
Hosted by previous winner La Voix and with some special judges, TV stars Vicki Michelle and Wendi Peters, it was a sensational night with all the acts doing their home venues proud. In the end it was Victoria Scone representing Central Station in London who took the crown and becomes the first of this year’s finalists.
This week we get the other two semi finals, first at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Thursday (7 Jun), hosted by Son of a Tutu, followed by Halfway II Heaven the next day (Friday 8 June), hosted by CK. Both of these will be amazing nights with 13 acts across the two nights fighting to be the second and third finalists. The last place will be decided next Wednesday (13 Jun) at the special Wild Card event at the Admiral Duncan, which is always another amazing night.
