Boys in the Buff features one very talented buxom brunette and four all-singing, all-dancing boys in 54 minutes of unadulterated fun and frolics. Also in the mix you get a pumping soundtrack of very funny songs plus witty dialogue by Chris Burgess that link the numbers with plenty of innuendo, all of which adds up to a hit show. This musical deals with the shape of the human body and features a poignant message about body dysmorphia told with style and substance.
This is a show of high jinx, high kicks and excellent production values with a nod to Fosse and Busby Berkeley, plus well received audience participation. Shani Cantor as Diana can belt out a number with the best of them and her four ‘boys’ – Eli Caldwell as Phil, Adam Mroz as Dan, Daniel Timoney as Richard and Adam O’Shea as Max – work the stage like seasoned troupers.
Boys in the Buff is thoroughly enjoyable exuberant entertainment and you do leave the theatre with a spring in your step and a reminder that we’re all beautiful regardless of size and weight.
